Before you install
Install Node.js 20 or newer. Graspable uses the node and npm on your computer to install a project's packages, build it and run its preview.
For the automatic browser and XR checks, have Chrome, Edge or Chromium installed. Graspable uses the browser you already have and downloads nothing.
Download
Get the installer for your system from graspable.dev/download.
| System | Installer |
|---|---|
| macOS, Apple silicon | .dmg |
| macOS, Intel | .dmg |
| Windows, x64 | setup .exe |
| Linux, x64 | AppImage, .deb or .rpm |
Every installer is published with its SHA-256 checksum and a signed checksum file. The download page shows the checksums and the public key.
First launch
Builds are not yet code-signed. Your system warns you the first time you open the app.
- macOS: right-click the app and choose Open the first time.
- Windows: SmartScreen shows a prompt. Choose More info, then Run anyway.
Graspable keeps sign-ins and API keys in your system's keychain. On macOS, the system may ask for your login password when the app first reads the keychain. With an unsigned build, macOS may ask again after you install a new version, because it sees the new version as a different app.
When the app opens you see the Projects page. The top right shows "connecting to agent…" for a moment while the agent starts.
Updating
Open Settings → Updates and choose Check for updates. If a new version exists, choose Install … and restart. The app verifies each update against a signing key built into it before installing.
Some builds have no auto-update. The Updates section then says: "This build has no auto-update (development or unsigned build). Download new versions from graspable.dev." In that case, download the new installer and install it over the old one.
Where your data lives
| What | Where |
|---|---|
| Projects | ~/Graspable/projects/<id> — one normal folder per project |
| Run history | ~/Graspable/projects/.runs |
| Backups of projects moved to the cloud | ~/Graspable/projects/.cloud |
| Memory about you | ~/.graspable/memory |
| Memory about a project | .graspable/memory inside the project folder |
| ChatGPT sign-in for the Graspable agent | ~/.graspable/agent |
| Certificate for headset sharing | ~/.graspable/headset |
| List of your cloud projects | ~/.graspable/cloud.json |
| API keys, your Graspable account sign-in, cloud provider keys | your system's keychain |
~ is your home folder.
Uninstalling
Remove the app the way you remove any app on your system. This does not delete your projects or settings.
To remove everything, also delete the ~/Graspable and ~/.graspable folders. Deleting ~/Graspable deletes your projects, so copy out anything you want to keep first. On macOS, the keychain item is named vault under dev.graspable.desktop; you can remove it in Keychain Access.
Claude Code and the Codex CLI keep their own sign-ins in their own places. Uninstalling Graspable does not touch them.
